Barista — Job Description

Location: Malta 

Job Type: Full-time 

 Work Permit: Sponsorship available for eligible non-EU candidates (single work permit application supported)

About the Role

We're looking for a friendly, skilled Barista to join our team and deliver an excellent coffee and customer experience. You'll prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, maintain a clean and welcoming café environment, and be a great first point of contact for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages to a consistent, high standard
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment
• Take customer orders and process payments accurately
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the café, in line with food safety regulations
• Restock supplies and manage inventory of coffee, milk, syrups, and other ingredients
• Provide friendly, attentive customer service and handle customer queries or complaints professionally
• Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene procedures
• Work collaboratively with the rest of the team during busy periods

Requirements

• Previous barista or hospitality experience preferred (training can be provided for the right candidate)
• Good understanding of coffee preparation techniques (latte art a plus)
• Strong communication skills; comfortable interacting with customers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Basic English required; Maltese or additional languages an advantage
• For non-EU/EEA candidates: eligibility to work in Malta will be supported through the single work permit application process; a valid passport and any required documentation will be needed
