About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious driver holding a Category C driving license to operate rigid goods vehicles for the transport of goods/materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of goods to designated locations while maintaining full compliance with road traffic and transport regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Category C (rigid, over 3,500kg) vehicle for local and/or long-distance deliveries
• Load and unload goods, ensuring correct securing and handling of cargo
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes
• Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (tyres, lights, brakes, fluid levels, etc.)
• Complete delivery documentation, including delivery notes, timesheets, and logs
• Report any vehicle faults, damage, or maintenance needs promptly
• Comply with all road safety regulations, driving hours, and rest period requirements
• Maintain a clean, professional, and roadworthy vehicle at all times
• Communicate professionally with customers and warehouse/dispatch staff
• Adhere to health and safety procedures during loading/unloading

Requirements

• Valid Category C driving license (mandatory)
• Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence), where applicable
• Digital tachograph card (where applicable)
• Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations
• Previous experience as a professional driver preferred
• Good knowledge of local roads and routes
• Physically fit and able to lift/move goods as required
• Strong time-management and organizational skills
• Good communication skills
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed

Desirable

• Experience with logistics/delivery software or handheld scanning devices
• Additional license categories (C+E, etc.)
• Knowledge of ADR regulations (if handling hazardous goods)
